Leucate has a number of major events throughout the year. In October, “Voix d’étoiles” (festival of animation film soundtracks), in May “Sol y Fiesta”, the international street theatre festival, and of course, in April, “Le mondial du vent”, which welcomes the stars of kitesurfing, windsurfing and stand-up paddle.

Leucate is well-known for all the board and wind sports (windsurfing, kitesurfing, paddle, sand yachting). On the lagoon, “L’île aux loisirs” offers a wide range of activities (fishing, pedalo, excursions). And if you prefer land to water, you can try mini-golf or horse-riding.

Languedoc-Roussillon has a wealth of heritage. History has left its mark throughout the region and there are many places of interest to explore. You certainly have plenty to choose from, including the fortified city of Carcassonne, Castell cathar, the palace of the Kings of Majorca in Perpignan au the cloisters in Elne , the painters’ village in Collioure , the wine region and ) and the Museum of Prehistory in Tautavel ,And Spain is just a few miles away for a visit to the Dali museum in Figueres or a tourist day-trip to the Ramblas in Barcelona.
